Beaujolais Nouveau is Almost Here!!

As we move into the start of the holiday season, we would like to wish you and yours all the best for the rest of 2019!

The third Thursday of November is next week and we know what that means - it's time for the release of the 2019 Beaujolais Nouveau! On November 21st at 12:01 am, this year's wine will be released to market. A favorite pairing with Thanksgiving dinner, at prices that will make your wallet smile, make sure you pick one up for the holiday. Great host gifts, and a conversation starter around the dinner table, these fresh and fruity wines will make you a holiday favorite!

Beaujolais Nouveau is the first wine of the season, made to be consumed young and fresh. This style of wine is an inexpensive, cheerful wine made to celebrate the end of harvest season. Made from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region of France, this wine is fermented for just a few weeks before being released. Beaujolais Nouveau is made using carbonic maceration, where whole berry clusters are fermented in an anaerobic environment creating an emphasis on fruit flavors without extracting too much tannins from skins. Grapes clusters are sealed in a container filled with carbon dioxide, and gently crushed from the weight of the clusters on the top of the container. The high carbon dioxide content stimulates fermentation in the uncrushed grapes, giving a fresh fruity wine. Drink yours lightly chilled!

Aromas of strawberries, candied fruit and bubblegum make this an approachable wine and a crowd pleaser. This style of wine is meant for immediate consumption, shows the variation of each vintage, and is seen as a quality indicator of the region's harvest as a whole.

Bottles are usually released with colorful, abstract designs that change each year. Marketed as an accompaniment to Thanksgiving in the United States, as it is released to market exactly one week before the Thanksgiving holiday.
